Nineteen48 and Rubyfair merge to create a better customer experience

Two of the UK’s leading suppliers of ethically sourced and traceable coloured gemstones, Nineteen48 ( and Rubyfair (, have announced a merger of their businesses. The merger will give customers a more efficient service and a greater range of coloured gemstones from one unified sales channel.

Nineteen48 specialises in fully traceable coloured gemstones from Sri Lanka (sapphire, aquamarine, garnet, tourmaline, alexandrite, moonstone, topaz, amethyst, spinel plus a range of other gems) whereas Rubyfair offers tanzanite, ruby, sapphire and spinel from its mine in Tanzania.

“Having been working closely together for some time, we decided that we should officially join forces and provide a more streamlined and efficient service to our combined customer base”, stated Gary Roberts, owner of Rubyfair.

Both brands will continue to exist in their own right for the foreseeable future, but all enquiries will now be handled through a single channel to improve the level of service and overall customer experience.
