29Jul Climbing High for Kandy Kids

Our co-founder, Stuart Pool, recently completed a charity climb of Mount Fuji in Japan, raising over £1500 for our charity partner, Kandy Kids (www.kandykids.org).

Over the weekend of 13/14th July, Stuart made it safely to the top (and back), taking around 22 hours to complete the round trip (including plenty of rest stops). It was a lot tougher than anticipated and he had to contend with extreme temperatures (hot and cold), high winds, torrential rain and some nasty insects. Part of the climb was completed at night with head-torches as the only source of light, which added to the challenge.

Despite the bitterly cold conditions at the top, he managed to take a couple of photos to prove he actually did it!

Stuart asked us to pass on this message:

“A massive thank you to everyone for your generous sponsorship and incredible support along the way. I am very grateful to everyone who contributed. The money raised will make a huge difference to the orphanages we are supporting through Kandy Kids.”

Donations can still be made on Stuart’s fundraising page:

For those of you who would like to know more, a detailed account of the climb will appear on our website in the near future. Watch this space…
